Back on track.

Apologies once again for an extreme lack of posts. It's exam period up here and together with job interviews and crazy social events I've been hectically busy. Procrastination has stretched to sketches but the owner of the resident scanner, my lovely housemate Emma, has been away and has been busy so we have a bit of a backlog. So here's a sketch from a few weeks back and I SHALL get back to the regular posts within the week when I have literally nothing to do bar watch Toddlers and Tiaras and fail to pack all my clothes for the summer.

This is a sketch of the outfit I wore for my sister's party. It was Mad Hatter's themed so I went for my classic tweed with a veiled bow hat.

Pretty simplistic, but I love me some tweed.

Talking of procrastination, I am the Procrastination Queen. Here's a list of just some of the things I have achieved whilst avoiding revision-

  1. Watching the entirety of 90210 from season one. Ditto for Gossip Girl. This wasn't as fun. Naomi Clark is much more fun than Serena Van Der Woodsen.
  2. Watched countless episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras, Big Fat Gyspy Weddings, and Hollyoaks.
  3. I've researched drag queens and rediscovered my distress that I shall never be one.
  4. I've made a skirt
  5. I got my ears pierced.
  6. I've painted my nails countless colours
  7. I've blocked four videos for korfball
  8. Rewritten three songs for the korf
  9. Learnt several more songs on the uke.
  10. Dyed my hair.
That's just a small list and eventually I got so bored I started working. It's scary stuff.

Procrastination always equals blog research! I have a coupla ideas for the next few posts so I better get them up!

Summertime Sadness

It's officially the 1st of May. And here at St Andrews that means running into the sea at 5am. Sadly I missed out on the hoards of naked men due to a rather awful test this morning. But it's also basically summer. Our house looks over a cafe garden and today it was filled with your blonde rahs decked out in boaters and Panamas.
It was so warm whilst I was at home a few weeks back and so made a few sketches of my usual summer wear...

Random fact holding minor tmi- I'm quite a sweaty person so for me summer clothes have to be loose.  Plus I have a minor phobia of skin cancer so they have to cover as much as possible. Here is an example of that- a New Look mens t-shirt in the palest grey. I cut off the neckline to make it fit better. The trousers were also from New Look. Being one of the two shops in St Andrews it perhaps to be expected that quite a lot of my basics come from there... The boater was from Primark- I have to wear a hat whenever it's sunny because I get so paranoid that I'm going to burn. The shoes were a present from my mother- they are Timberlands that look like a mixture between boat shoes and plimsols. Plus they are camel. So I love them.

This is one of these random outfits I only wear at home because I just don't think people in my immediate environment are prepared for it. I had my hair pinned up a la Gaga in the Marry The Night video. The bit when she's wearing the studded denim crop-top. I want that top, and her abs... The sunglasses are these crazy 50s inspired red ones from Paloma Picasso. They are so funky, but too heavy so they leave massive red marks across my bridge, which is upsetting. The grey vest top is from H&M. I got the trousers for Morocco when I went in the summer. They cost me a fiver from a hippy shop in Norwich. They are disturbingly comfy and perfect for summer but people up here just don't understand them. Which is a shame, so I shall wait till summer proper to whack these bad boys out.

I hope the 1st of May is treating you fabulously!
